in a preemptive effort to stave off the social extinction that results from the hermit-like nature of living alone with two cats, i now keep four different instant messaging programs on whenever my laptop is open. sometimes even when i'm in class. usually when i'm at work too.

No, comment bot. that was part of the point. Trillian only functions with Yahoo and AIM. The other IM programs block the program. And what good is Trillian if it only eliminates using the net of one program. Or not even that because I’ve never talked to anyone on Yahoo, so I’ve started keeping it closed. Plus, you have to pay for Trillian just to see people’s profiles. The whole thing is laaaame.
